40 Leaders Under Forty

Dr. Anil Reddivari, MD is a dedicated physician, internal medicine specialist and administrator within the UnityPoint Health (UPH) system in Peoria. He serves as medical director of the UPH Infusion Center, responsible for all outpatient infusions at Methodist and Pekin hospitals, and assistant clinical professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, a leader in clinical teaching and evaluation of medical students, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. When the pandemic hit the area, he was the primary physician provider leading the dedicated unit for COVID-19 admissions at UnityPoint.

Dr. Reddivari’s leadership qualities and dedication have led to his appointment to a range of administrative roles at UnityPoint Health. He serves on the Regional Provider Council, responsible for governing all providers within UPH-Peoria, and the Peer Review Committee, responsible for peer evaluations at Proctor and Pekin hospitals. As the physician leader of the Bioethics Committee, he is often consulted to help make decisions in complex ethical scenarios, and he has served on the ICU Interdisciplinary Committee for more than eight years.

An active member of Physicians for American Healthcare Access, a nonprofit organization working to improve healthcare access for all Americans, Dr. Reddivari has worked on national legislative initiatives to bring public awareness to the healthcare shortage in rural Illinois. He has volunteered as a mentor for the American College of Physicians mentorship program, helping to guide aspiring medical students, and serves as an active investigator for multiple clinical trials, working to bring innovative treatments to the community.

Dr. Reddivari has volunteered for the national polio eradication program in India and was a project leader in conducting multiple community research projects in underserved areas. He is eligible and nominated to the Fellow of American College of Physicians (FACP), where his application review is currently pending due to COVID-19. PM
