Holly Edwin has devoted her career to the development and support of Caterpillar engines and dozers, working to improve global infrastructure, reduce emissions and drive sustainable change. As New Product Introduction team leader, Edwin is responsible for a global team developing next-generation bulldozers for Caterpillar customers around the world. She led development of the award-winning D6 XE—the world’s first high-drive electric drive dozer, designed and built in Peoria—which offers up to 35 percent improved fuel efficiency compared to the previous model. Under her leadership, recent D6 new product introductions have earned numerous industry accolades and awards for quality, innovation and product excellence, receiving significant press coverage in industry and trade publications.
Edwin has represented Caterpillar at ConExpo, the world’s largest heavy machinery tradeshow, as well as publicity events with NASCAR and other initiatives. She has created service training materials, taught training classes for Caterpillar dealer technicians and salespeople, and served on innovation teams to foster breakthrough technologies. She has been a Caterpillar recruiter at Marquette University, a mentor for interns and new hires, and a STEM advocate through her work with the Society of Women Engineers, volunteering at STEM-related events in area schools and throughout the community. She is also a member of the Caterpillar Women’s Initiative Network.
In addition to her worldwide leadership at Caterpillar, Edwin is committed to supporting others in the Peoria community with her time and resources. She is a board member and vice president of mentoring with Women in Leadership Central Illinois, an active volunteer at Wilder-Waite Elementary School in Dunlap, and a volunteer gardener in the Adopt-a-Garden program at St. Jude Catholic Church. She has previously volunteered with Midwest Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity, and assisted with clean-up and recovery efforts after the Washington, Illinois tornado in 2013.PM
