Thank you for your support of Arts Alive! since 1996. Our mission has always been to: facilitate communication among area arts and cultural organizations and promote and strengthen their services to central Illinois residents; inform readers about, and promote participation in, central Illinois arts and cultural events; educate readers about, and develop appreciation for, area arts and cultural offerings; give recognition to individuals and organizations that exemplify excellence in arts and culture in central Illinois; and provide a forum for future activities and events that will promote the arts and culture in central Illinois.

While the mission of Arts Alive! isn’t changing, Arts Alive! is changing its look and frequency. This is the last issue of Arts Alive!; on February 20, 2006, Arts Alive! will become Art & Society TM, a full-color glossy magazine—the area’s only bi-monthly, premier arts and social magazine. As it is people who make the arts alive, we will focus more on people—people behind the scenes of an event, people attending events, and people as artists.

Among new features and articles of interest, Art & Society TM will include photos of people attending select area events, including art openings, fund raisers, and society galas. Other features to look forward to include a peek inside gorgeous local homes, a behind-the-scenes visit with local gourmet chefs, and articles on living well in central Illinois. Many people have told us that the lists of events and productions in the back of Arts Alive! are crucial to planning their cultural outings, so we’ll keep those departments coming your way in Art & Society TM.

We’re currently establishing a new mailing list for Art & Society TM. To receive the complimentary first issue of Art & Society TM, readers of Arts Alive! must subscribe online at www.peoriamagazines.com or by phone at 683-3060. The new magazine will be sold at Barnes and Noble bookstore and at CIBP offices, as well. Yearly subscription information also is available online or by calling our office.

We hope you share our excitement about the growing arts and society scene in central Illinois. We at CIBP have enjoyed bringing you Arts Alive! and are responding to your requests to expand our coverage. Art & Society TM joins our other established titles—InterBusiness Issues, The Peoria Woman, Peoria Progress Plays in Central Illinois, and Central Illinois Perspective—in bringing you the stories and introducing you to the people and businesses that make central Illinois a great place to live, work, and play. AA!
