August 10 Rock the Farm
Easterseals Central Illinois | Mackinaw Valley Vineyard
Join Easterseals at 6pm for the Rock the Farm benefit at the beautiful Mackinaw Valley Vineyard, rain or shine. Featuring a night of great music from The Way Down Wanderers, Joshua Powell & The Great Train Robbery, and Violet and the Undercurrents, the proceeds from this concert will go to Easterseals to help Alex Camacho and other children with special needs. Alex was diagnosed with Cortical Visual Impairment as a baby, and his family presents Rock the Farm so that other children with CVI may receive treatment and support. Tickets and information are available at goteamalex.com.

August 11 Boogie Night: Disco Costume Party
Contemporary Art Center of Peoria
Go back to the days when disco topped the charts, “The Hustle” was all the rage, and it was okay to catch “Boogie Fever!” From 7 to 11pm, DJ juanGoblin will spin the greatest hits (and deep cuts) of the disco era from his vintage vinyl collection against the backdrop of a disco ball and Car Wash projected on the wall. Abraham Ghantous of Body Fitness kicks off the evening with a short lesson of The Hustle Line Dance style—and to really impress, “The Hustle for Couples” dance class will be offered in three one-hour sessions on Wednesdays, July 25th through August 8th. (Register by July 18th!) Come dressed in period costume for a chance to win a grand prize! To register for the class or for more information, visit peoriacac.org.
