Artwork by Bob Doucette
“Ever since I was a child I knew that the only time I was truly happy was when I was creating something,” says Bob Doucette, creator of whimsical, dreamlike images derived from his theater work, puppet design and 23 years in the animation world. Upon moving to Peoria in 2018, he has quickly made waves in the local arts community.
Doucette is among seven artists featured in “New Surrealism,” running January 11th through February 22nd at the Contemporary Art Center. On February 15th, an exhibition of Doucette’s work entitled “Finding Bliss” will open at Exhibit A Gallery in Peoria Heights, with an opening reception from 4 to 8pm. “Finding Bliss” runs through March 8th.
