Dr. Samer Sader is a physician at RenalCare Associates, where he also serves as partner, vice president-elect, manager of the research division, and medical director for its kidney and pancreas transplant program.

After completing his residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and fellowship at the University of Iowa, he returned to Peoria in 2005 as an attending nephrologist with RenalCare Associates and quickly became a leader in his field and in the community. Within two years, he became a full partner and has continued to rise to his current position as vice president-elect. He also serves as medical director of the hemodialysis unit in Kewanee.

Dr. Sader was a member of the advisory committee for the implementation of electronic medical records at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and chairman of the Pharmaceutical & Therapeutics Committee at Methodist Medical Center. He was also recently selected to be the acute care medical director at Methodist.

Fluent in both Spanish and Arabic, Dr. Sader often assists colleagues in communicating with their non-English speaking patients. He teaches at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria and volunteers his time with its Urban Health Program. An active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Parish, he enjoys helping with his children’s activities and volunteering as soccer coach. He also assists the Illinois Valley Striders and is an active member of St. Sharbel’s Mens Club, basketball coach with Peoria Girls Sports League, and volunteer at the Sisters of Charity food pantry.

Among Dr. Sader’s numerous awards are the Dr. Charles Spenser Williamson Award of Internal Medicine, Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories Internal Medicine Award, Harry A. Warren Memorial Excellence in Cardiology Award and the Faculty Teaching Award from the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He was a Midwest resident research award presentation winner for the Society of General Internal Medicine and participated in the James Scholar independent research honor program.
