Amanda L. Gavin, CPA is director of federal tax solutions at CliftonLarsonAllen, a top 10 accounting firm with more than $550 million in revenue. She is responsible for assigning, analyzing and reviewing technical tax projects for firm-wide clients with a focus on capital asset studies, research and development tax credit studies, and energy efficiency deduction studies to maximize tax benefits. She manages eight people across projects in four states, demonstrating leadership in client service and planning, and mentoring staff members across the country on their career development.

Gavin organizes monthly “Brown Bag Lunches” for team members to come together to discuss the latest updates in their profession and build stronger working relationships. She co-founded a monthly working mothers’ luncheon to discuss issues of work/life balance and was made a leader of the firm’s Women’s Initiative Now project. Gavin has sat on the board of the Illinois CPA Society for the past four years, serving first as treasurer and now secretary. She also helped implement the CPA Day of Service in the Peoria area and has organized numerous conferences for the local chapter.

Active with the Junior League of Peoria, Gavin currently serves as chair of the Leadership and Logistics Committee of the Presidents Council, where her responsibilities include organizing monthly meetings, securing speakers, and hosting training opportunities for members. She was the only new member in 2011 to win the Bronze Volunteer Award, traditionally given to long-standing members.

The mother of twin boys, Gavin is involved with the Peoria Mother of Twins organization, serving as librarian and mentor to new mothers of multiples. From 2004 to 2012, she was a co-leader of the Metamora chapter of the Girl Scouts, and for more than a decade, she was involved with Junior Achievement, lending her time to teach business skills at local schools in Peoria. Gavin has been recognized among WEEK-TV’s 25 Women in Leadership and is a graduate of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School. iBi
