Amy L. Wilson is a project landscape architect in Farnsworth Group’s Architecture Department, developing and managing large-scale residential, commercial and civic projects from the conceptual level to final construction drawings. In this role, she creates design proposals, conducts site inventories, designs in AutoCAD or by hand, conducts meetings with clients, prepares estimates, creates graphic presentations, gives expert testimony to public boards and commissions, and conducts field inspections.

A Registered Landscape Architect, Wilson works side by side with engineers, architects, clients, developers and contractors, integrating landscape architecture to create a “sense of place.” Some of her notable projects include: Riverfront Development, City of Pekin; Washington Street & Tiger II Warehouse District Streetscape, Peoria; Orange Prairie Road, Peoria; Downtown Morton Plaza, Morton; Peoria High School Athletic Fields, Peoria; OSF Hospice Home, Peoria; Springdale Cemetery Main Entrance, Peoria; and RLI Corporate Operations Building and Campus Improvements, Peoria.

Active in the American Society of Landscape Architects and its Illinois chapter, Wilson extends her passion to the next generation of architects and engineers, reaching out to share career opportunities in the STEM arena and guiding youth through STEM activities and camps.

A trustee for the Pekin Police Foundation, Wilson volunteers on the fundraising committee for its annual Blue Line Bash event. As a member of the Pekin Planning Commission, she helps the city adhere to zoning ordinances and address future planning issues. She is a graduate of the R. David Tebben Leadership Academy and currently chairs the Pekin Area Chamber’s Emerging Leaders Committee. She also served as a committee member, landscape architect and designer for Save James Field, raising money to renovate a dilapidated athletic field into a community park and open green space.

Wilson is a member of the PEO Chapter GW, an international organization that promotes the advancement of women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College. A VIP fundraiser and telethon caller for Children’s Hospital of Illinois, she also volunteers with her church, the Scott Altman Primary School Parent Club and The Salvation Army. iBi
