As District Director for Congressman Darin LaHood, Brad Stotler manages and oversees the operations of four offices and staff in Illinois’ 18th Congressional District. Since moving back to his hometown of Peoria, he has been a reliable contact for official business within the congressional office, in addition to bringing ideas and people together to create opportunities for the Peoria-area community. He has established close relationships with residents throughout the district and represents Congressman LaHood at a variety of official events and functions when he is in Washington, DC.
After Congressman LaHood's special election victory in 2015, Stotler was his first hire for the district offices, and was solely responsible for establishing the incoming legislator’s operations. His responsibilities included hiring eight staff members for all 18th District offices and continuing oversight of his offices and staff. Responsible for outreach across all 19 counties of the 18th District, he has organized more than 500 community events for Congressman LaHood, while his district offices have completed more than 2,000 constituent cases, helping them navigate the federal bureaucracy in issues pertaining to Social Security, Medicare, immigration, veterans’ affairs and more.
In addition, Stotler established a pair of committees to advise the congressman on topics important to the agriculture and veterans’ communities, presenting feedback on the challenges and opportunities they face. He has been instrumental in serving as a liaison for the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce's Washington, D.C. Fly-in, helping coordinate with the Chamber on events and logistics for local constituents to visit the nation's capital. He also oversees the annual Congressional Art Competition, which highlights artistic talent from 18th District high school students.
Stotler sits on the board of the Dirksen Congressional Center in Pekin and serves as vice-chairman and past secretary of the Peoria County Republican Party, as well as a board member of AppsCo, a student-run entrepreneurial venture in partnership with Peoria Public Schools. iBi
