State Senator Chuck Weaver (R-37th District) is continuing his mission of helping to grow and develop local leaders with his first-ever “Developing Tomorrow’s Leaders Conference” on November 30, 2017 at 5pm in the Caterpillar Visitors Center. The event will bring together leaders in business, government and education, serving as a resource for young professionals in a variety of industries to connect and interact with other emerging leaders, as well as provide insights to established leaders throughout the region.
“One of my core missions as a public official is to help grow and develop our region’s leaders,” declares Sen. Weaver. “These are the very people who will be able to advance our communities through economic development and good government.”
The keynote speaker will be Tana L. Utley, Caterpillar’s Vice President in charge of the Large Power Systems Division, whose technical career has been focused on solving the issues and challenges of reducing diesel engine emissions to meet environmental regulations. The conference will also feature a panel including Peoria Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat and MH Equipment CEO John Wieland.
“Real, positive change requires strong local leadership,” adds Sen. Weaver. “My hope is to provide an environment that will foster networking and collaboration for our growing leadership core. I believe we all have a duty to cultivate future community leaders who will grow and do the same for the next generation.”
The event is free of charge. For more information, email Angelia Romanelli at [email protected] or call (217) 782-1650. iBi
