Children’s Home Association of Illinois is the largest social service agency in Illinois outside of the Chicago metropolitan area. Our staff of over 450 professionals are committed to community-based, family-focused programs that provide counseling, education, and support to more than 1,700 children and families each month. We serve at-risk youth from newborns to young adults.
Children’s Home operates out of ten locations in the Peoria area and works collaboratively within the community to meet new challenges. As a leader in our field, we are optimistic that better outcomes are always possible through education, therapy and intervention, foster care, and community support.
How to Help
At Children’s Home, we believe that taking care of the community in which we live is everyone’s responsibility. Community engagement—in whatever capacity an individual or organization is able to provide—is critical to our success.
- Become a mentor. Many of the youth in our care lack stable, reliable relationships with adults. Becoming a mentor to one of our clients makes a tremendous difference in the lives of our young people. - Make a financial donation. Monetary donations give our budgets the boost they need and are always appreciated. Individual donations can be made online at chail.org/donate, or you can contact our Development Operations Specialist, Paige Dobson, for a more customized plan to underwrite an event or project that especially interests you.
- Give an in-kind donation. In-kind donations are a huge blessing to so many of our clients. These include: hygiene products (shampoo, deodorant, soap), new household items (dishes, pots and pans, cleaning supplies), and others.
