Community Impact

Mission
Empowering people to live healthier lives.

Vision
Hult Center for Healthy Living is the premier nonprofit provider of comprehensive health education and wellness services for people of all ages.

For the past 31 years, Hult Center for Healthy Living has embodied its mission to “empower people to live healthier lives” through its various health programs and services which include youth health education, adult health education, mental health programs, and oncology support programs and services. Hult Center strives to ensure all programs and services are designed to meet the greatest health needs of the Tri-County community, which has required the ability to grow and adapt to the continuous changes of our community, while working cohesively with other local organizations, community leaders, and support staff to create long-lasting, positive health outcomes for the individuals we serve.

Through preventative, interactive, and outcome-based youth health education, Hult Center educates students of all ages on a wide variety of topics, including reproductive health, nutrition, substance abuse, dental health, and mental health. Hult Center offers educational theatres which are designed to enhance student learning through visuals and hands-on activities.

In addition to youth education, Hult Center educates adults on pertinent topics related to the adult population, specializing in chronic disease prevention and management. Hult Center became the first agency in central Illinois to offer a yearlong lifestyle change program, National Diabetes Prevention Program (Prevent T2), designed for individuals 18 years and older who are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes. In 2018, Hult Center received full recognition from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for demonstrating effectiveness for this evidence-based lifestyle change program. Other adult programs include the (A Matter of Balance) Fall Prevention Program and a variety of wellness services to empower anyone at any stage of their cancer journey. Oncology support services include nutrition counseling, individual and family counseling, healthy cooking demonstrations, support groups, and massage therapy.

Hult Center’s team educates an average of 10,000 people each year in mental health education alone. In addition to increasing the number of adults and youth served, Hult’s team has expanded mental health program offerings to better address the unique needs of our community. Hult now provides mental health and social-emotional education for all ages teaching Pre-K through high school students; in addition, Hult’s team provides uniquely-specialized adult mental health and suicide prevention trainings for specialty groups such as police, teachers, businesses, higher education, community agencies, healthcare workers, media representatives, and special education staff.
