Community Impact

Mission
The UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois Foundation is committed to generating resources for the sustainability and advancement of healthcare in Greater Peoria and surrounding communities. The generosity of individuals, businesses and foundations has given us the ability to touch the lives of our community through numerous enhancements to the health services provided at our hospitals and surrounding clinics and support for wellness education programs.

Vision
The UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois Foundation is a resource to all parts of UnityPoint Health in the Central Illinois region and is committed to improving the health of the people and communities we serve.

The Foundation supports initiatives to improve the health and wellness of Central Illinois’ surrounding community. We provide resources vital to advancing healthcare services, upgrading technology, increasing access, and behavioral health services for all of our UnityPoint Health hospital campuses, facilities and clinics.

Like many other signature events, the UnityPoint Health – Central Illinois Unity Gala took on a new format in 2020. In place of the large event, which raises thousands of dollars annually, the Foundation commissioned a painting from locally and nationally renowned artist, Jonathon Romain. Romain’s piece reflected the 2020 Gala theme, Kaleidoscope.

The artwork was unveiled at the Peoria Riverfront Museum on Saturday, October 3 and will remain on display at the museum until it is moved to UnityPoint Health –Methodist Hospital.

The painting features many of 2020’s big themes: our community coming together, a depiction of the COVID-19 virus, and racial injustice. In the foreground are four women who Romain said to represent love, hope, faith, and science.

A donation of $250 or higher secured a print of the piece along with a certificate of authenticity signed by Jonathon Romain and Dr. Keith Knepp.

How to Help
Gifts can be made to the UnityPoint – Central Illinois Health Foundation on our website or can be mailed to our Peoria location.

Our community has experienced great loss during the COVID-19 pandemic, and it will take increased mental healthcare services to start the healing process. For a limited time, the generous gift you make toward COVID-19 recovery will be matched by an anonymous donor up to $50,000. To donate, visit unitypoint.org/recovery.
