A partner at Vonachen, Lawless, Trager & Slevin, Amira L. Vicari Hills concentrates on credit union law, creditor rights, bankruptcy, collections, domestic relations and municipal law. In less than five years, she has advanced quickly at the firm, where she is active in day-to-day operations, management and staffing decisions. She strives to foster and maintain client relationships, taking the lead in preparing workshops and Q&A sessions for institutional clients.

Strongly committed to a range of efforts within the Heart of Illinois United Way, Vicari Hills served as co-chair of the LEAD Committee of GENeration United for two years, where she helped coordinate nonprofit agency tours and provided leadership for initiatives such as BoardSERVE. She was also part of the GEN U Executive Committee, scholarship chair for the Power of the Purse event, and member of the Campaign Cabinet for the United Way’s 2014 fundraising efforts. She has served as a United Way campaign coordinator since 2011, helping to coordinate efforts at her firm and facilitating the engagement of staff and donors through workplace payroll deductions.

Vicari Hills is a member of the FamilyCore Board of Directors, and has volunteered for the Ladies’ Itoo Society, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and American Cancer Society. In addition, she has offered her time and pro bono services through Lawyers Helping Service Members and Prairie State Legal Services.

Earlier this year, Vicari Hills was named an “Emerging Lawyer” by the Leading Lawyers Network and was nominated for the 2015 Illinois State Bar Association’s Young Lawyer of the Year Award for downstate Illinois. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and Peoria County Bar Association, serving on its Young Lawyers Committee. She is also an active member and volunteer at St. Sharbel Maronite Catholic Church. iBi
