As Director of Operations and Finance at East Peoria Elementary School District 86, Jason Warner oversees the departments of maintenance and facilities, food services and technology, as well as the entire fiscal operations of the district. Under his purview, District 86 has received financial recognition from the Illinois State Board of Education.
Warner began his career with District 86 in 2000 as a sixth-grade math teacher. Upon completing his master’s degree at Bradley University, he moved into the position of assistant principal at Central Junior High School, then on to principal, before assuming his current position. As an administrator, Warner has been instrumental in developing a number of major building projects in the district, including Central Junior High's two-phased expansion—its largest single project since the 1960s. He has also helped orchestrate a variety of life-safety improvements to the district’s other six buildings, and has been intimately involved in the planning and operation of large, statewide sporting events in East Peoria, working closely with the Illinois Education State Association (IESA).
A lifelong learner, Warner is currently working on a pair of graduate programs that will earn him a Superintendent endorsement as well as a Chief School Business Official endorsement. He is a member of the Illinois Association of School Business Officials, and was named the 2014 Principal of the Year by the Central Illinois Valley division of the Illinois Principals Association.
Prior to his graduate studies, Warner was a dedicated member of the East Peoria Rotary Club, and as a teacher, he worked with St. Jude to raise money for the family of a student found to have cancer. His other volunteer efforts include service on the East Peoria High School Strategic Planning Committee, fundraising for Easterseals, and assisting the Central Junior High Canned Food Drive and Christmas Fund.
