Peoria Warehouse District will once again be alive with artists at our second annual street festival. This year we are featuring local artist Andrè Petty who will be creating a mural of Richard Pryor on the Sous Chef building at 1311 SW Adams.

Over 30 chalk artists will again compete for $1000 cash prizes and performances from local schools and theaters under the direction of by Bryan Blanks will be filling the streets with sound. The 2019 music stage will host an open-mic competition organized by Kindall Nelson of Peoria Music Live and Roxy Baker of WWCT 99.9 FM.

Big Picture Initiative is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Funds raised by the sponsors of Draw for a Cause chalk painting are used to pay teaching artists to work with kids in after-school programs and community centers. Big Picture members have successfully run art classes at the Common Place, the East Bluff Community Center, the Neighborhood House as well as a summer mural program and video class at Peoria Public Schools.

The film festival is Friday night, 5-9, along upper Main Street and Saturday night 7:00-9:30 at Peoria Riverfront Museum.

The street festival is from 10AM-4PM Saturday, Oct. 12.

All events are free but donations are encouraged to help support arts education classes by artists. There will be a Giving Hands Donation Station and Giving Hands Sculpture. Please bring canned food to donate and receive a ticket for a random drawing for a piece of art created by one of our demonstrating artists.
