40 Leaders Under Forty

As a litigation attorney at Howard & Howard, Noah Menold focuses his practice on commercial litigation and the handling of complex business disputes, having previously concentrated on healthcare and medical malpractice defense. Each year since 2018, he has been selected to the Emerging Lawyers list published by Leading Lawyers—a distinction earned by just two percent of eligible candidates. He was recently selected by Best Lawyers for the inaugural class of “Ones to Watch” in the area of commercial litigation.

Active in the Illinois State Bar Association, Menold serves on the Civil Practice & Procedure Section Council and Construction Law Section Council. He is a member of the Peoria County Bar Association, writes for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and sits on the board of the Abraham Lincoln American Inn of Court, which provides educational opportunities for central Illinois lawyers. He also volunteers through Prairie State Legal Services, handling pro bono cases for low-income clients and serving on the Peoria Campaign Committee.

Menold currently serves on the board of Tazewell County Resource Centers and was recently nominated to become secretary on the executive committee. For the last four years, he has volunteered through the Morton Economic Development Council to mentor high school students who aspire to become attorneys. As a member of the Rotary Club of Morton, he takes part in service projects throughout the year: chairing WTVP membership drives, volunteering at the Morton Pumpkin Festival, and ringing bells for the Salvation Army. He also volunteers with the Morton Business Network and Morton Chamber of Commerce, presenting on new laws and legal issues affecting small businesses.

A 2015 graduate of the Leadership Morton program, Menold was elected to the Morton School District 709 Board of Education while still in college. He also has coached youth baseball and soccer through the Morton Youth Baseball Association and Morton Park District. PM
