40 Leaders Under Forty

As senior vice president and relationship manager for corporate and institutional banking at PNC Bank, Ryan Miller is an accomplished banker known for building trust and deep personal relationships with his clients. In this role, he was selected by corporate leaders to lead a virtual event with more than 30 internship participants and other senior leaders to provide insight to PNC’s corporate banking practice and highlight its strategies in central Illinois. He is involved in campus recruitment for new interns and serves on a committee tasked with allocating PNC Foundation and charitable funds to deserving recipients throughout the region.

At his previous employer, Miller was selected by senior management as a National Emerging Leader and tasked with creating high-value projects to address a range of critical business issues. He is a rising star in the Peoria business community, and his passion and energy are contagious.

Outside of the workplace, Miller has shown a particular passion for helping youth. He serves on the Children’s Home Association of Illinois Board of Trustees, helping to carry on the agency’s mission and critical impact on families and children in central Illinois. A longtime classroom volunteer for Junior Achievement of Central Illinois, he has taught JA programs in both the fourth and sixth grades in Peoria schools. He also served as a JA board member from 2014 to 2020, during which the organization experienced record-breaking years of youth impact.

Miller is a member of the Emerging Philanthropists Fund, a strategic giving vehicle for young professionals through the Community Foundation of Central Illinois. He is a graduate of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Community Leadership School and served as event captain for the Distinguished Citizen Award presented by the W.D. Boyce Council, Boy Scouts of America from 2016 to 2018. He has also been a coach for numerous youth baseball and basketball teams.PM
