In her role at PNC Bank, Wiesner directs all aspects of client and community relations, including events, sponsorships, grants, internal and external communications, employee engagement and contract negotiations. In addition, she provides recommendations for market investments, evaluates the effectiveness of market initiatives based on local trends, and manages a market-level budget.

“Jenna’s leadership role … allows her to bring PNC’s market strategy to life and support community organizations by directing PNC’s philanthropic dollars locally,” said her nominator. “This includes funding to support initiatives with Peoria’s Riverfront Museum, Hult Center for Healthy Living, Children’s Home, Heart of Illinois United Way and 30+ organizations across greater Peoria.”

Meanwhile, Wiesner has taken leadership roles in PNC-supported events such as the Peoria Civic Center’s New Year’s Eve Kids Countdown and the Peoria Park District’s Worldwide Day of Play. In 2018, she was selected as a PNC Market All-Star, an internal award granted to only 5% of PNC’s 60,000 employees.

“Her confidence and dedicated work ethic have created endless pathways to build PNC’s brand and sustain strategic relationships with key decision-makers and for-profit and nonprofit stakeholders throughout the region.”

As a fourth-generation Peorian, Wiesner’s community involvement includes volunteering for PNC Grow Up Great, an early childhood education initiative designed to help prepare children from birth to age 5 for success in school and life. She also oversees her company’s annual United Way campaign. Recently, Wiesner helped launch a capital campaign to fund the Young Minds Project, a youth and adolescent mental health facility in Peoria.

Childhood ambition: “I wanted to be a teacher … but my mom knew that patience was not one of my strongest attributes, so she advised me to seek out other careers. Haha!”

Advice to 20-year-old self: “Your parents do know what they are talking about!”

Hobbies: “Working out, spending time with my husband, Matt, and our 2-year-old son, Cameron, taking walks with our goldendoodle, Sophie, reading, watching any show on Bravo and watching college football.”

Biggest challenges: “I have two: 1. Learning our new normal of being working parents. It’s an ongoing challenge, but the best decision we’ve made! 2. Being an assertive female leader can be challenging at times.”

Peoria needs: “A Trader Joe’s …”
