Scott Phegley’s career primarily has been spent in the insurance industry, specializing in restoration and claim adjustment, but many people know him as the guy behind building up junior golf in central Illinois. As the marketing chairman for the Pekin AJGA event, he worked tirelessly with Michelle Kuhl, the American Junior Golf Association and Pekin Country Club to bring a world-class junior golf tournament home. The D.A. Points AJGA tournament in Pekin draws hundreds of kids from all over the country and the world to our own backyard.

Scott also has worked as general manager of Clubhouse Indoor Golf and owner of Golf Events Guy.

A former collegiate and professional golfer, Peoria City golf champion (2015, 2020) and elected captain of the 2023 Peoria River Cup team, Scott volunteers as assistant golf coach at Concordia Lutheran School. He is a board member of the River Cup Foundation, raising funds for junior golf and building the next generation of golfers. He served on the Peoria Park District Golf Committee. He initiated and coordinated the campaign that raised the most money for the Strapped Peoria drive.

In addition, he has been a Peoria Chamber of Commerce ambassador and a strategic partner for the Women’s Council of Realtors, Peoria Network.

Scott is married to Casie, a speech pathologist at OSF Children’s Hospital of Illinois, and they are the parents of Logan and Ben.
