40 Leaders Under Forty

As senior community development manager for the North Central Region, Audrey Williams executes a fundraising portfolio to support the mission of the American Cancer Society (ACS) throughout five central Illinois counties. She recruits, trains and mobilizes a diverse volunteer base; works to engage new community donors while maintaining existing donor relationships; and utilizes a variety of communication and marketing tools to increase brand awareness and provide excellent customer service.

Williams organizes an array of special events and fundraisers, including Relay For Life, Night of Hope and various golf outings. As planning committee chairperson, she oversees the volunteers, preparation and execution of each event. Last year, she led efforts to increase awareness of breast cancer and raised $43,000 by enlisting 20 prominent residents to participate in the Real Men Wear Pink Campaign. She was honored with the 2018 Regions Club Award for her fundraising performance and the values she exemplifies in her role at ACS.

Active with the Young Professionals of Greater Peoria (YPGP), Williams serves as a board member, chair of the Membership & Marketing Committee, and member of the Professional Development Committee. She is a graduate of YPGP’s LEAP (Leaders Emerging to Advance Peoria) Academy, a six-week leadership program designed to develop leadership skills and empower young professionals to become active in the community, and serves on the board of the Front Nine Foundation, which raises money to help local children and their families offset medical bills.

In the spring of 2018, Williams obtained her real estate broker’s license and is now a broker with Jim Maloof/Realtor and member of the Women’s Council of Realtors. She serves as an Ambassador for the East Peoria Chamber of Commerce and has volunteered for the Center For Prevention of Abuse and Easterseals Central Illinois. PM
