Ongoing. The Jukebox Comedy Club features local, regional and nationally known comedians, open Wednesdays through Saturdays.

1/20. Hypnohumorist Terry Grawey will perform in the Broadway Lounge at the Waterhouse at 8pm.

2/4. Outback Concerts presents Rodney Carrington on his Here Comes the Truth Tour at the Peoria Civic Center.

2/10. Comedy Night in the Broadway Lounge at the Waterhouse will be hosted by Greg Batton at 8pm.

DANCE
1/20, 2/3, 2/17. The Contemporary Art Center hosts Salsa at the CAC on the first and third Fridays of the month from 8:30pm to midnight. 

EXHIBITS
Ongoing. Sculpture Walk Peoria features 16 large-scale sculptures along Washington Street in downtown Peoria. 

Ongoing. The Diocesan Museum in the Spalding Pastoral Center features exhibits on the Peoria Diocese, while the adjacent Fulton J. Sheen Museum offers a permanent exhibit on the life of the famous archbishop.

Thru 3/12. Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition will be on display at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. 

1/6, 2/3. Art galleries and artist studios around the region open their doors from 5 to 9pm for First Fridays.

1/8 – 2/22. Summer Revisited by Cathy Engberg will be on display in the Foster Gallery for Christianity and Fine Arts during gallery hours. A reception will be held from 5 to 8pm on 2/3.

1/12 – 2/23. FACES, paintings by Donna Carr Roberts, will be on display in Bradley University’s Hartmann Center Gallery. A reception will be held from 5 to 7pm on 1/21. 

1/13 – 2/17. Painting installations from Vincent Caranchini will be on display at the Contemporary Art Center. An opening reception will be held on 1/14 from 6:30 to 8:30pm.

1/13 – 2/24. The sculpture and paintings of Barry and Ben Tinsley will be on display at the Contemporary Art Center. An opening reception will be held on 1/14 from 6:30 to 8:30pm. 

1/16 – 2/16. The “Richard Renaldi – Bunn Lectureship in Photography” exhibit will be on display in Bradley University’s Heuser Art Center Gallery. A lecture takes place at 5pm on 1/26 in the Horowitz Auditorium with a reception to follow at 6pm in the gallery. 

1/18 – 2/10. Ceramics and sculpture by Erin Furimsky and Claire Hedden will be on display at Illinois Central College in Gallery 336B, and a printmaking exhibit by Florin Hategan will be on display in the ICC Performing Arts Center, with a combined opening reception on 1/18 from noon to 2pm. 

2/4 – 2/25. A Glimpse into Bradley University History runs at the Peoria Public Library Main Library from 9am to 6pm, Monday thru Saturday. 

LECTURES & PRESENTATIONS
2/15 – 3/10. Socio-political art by Folleh Tamba will be on display at Illinois Central College in Gallery 336B, and photography by Britten Traughber will be on display in the ICC Performing Arts Center, with a combined opening reception on 2/15 from noon to 2pm. 

1/5. Author Ken Zurski will speak on “The Wreck of the Columbia: A Broken Boat, A Town’s Sorrow and the End of the Steamboat Era on the Illinois River” at 6pm at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. 

2/9. The Fine Arts Society of Peoria presents “Harmony, Respect, Purity & Tranquility in the Middle of the Cornfields,” a demonstration of the Japanese tea ceremony by Jennifer Gunji-Ballsrud, at 10am at the Peoria Riverfront Museum. 

2/23, 2/25. The Big Read: Peoria Reads! presents Tayari Jones, author of Silver Sparrow, at 6pm on 2/23 at the Peoria Public Library Lincoln Branch and 1pm on 2/25 at the North Branch.

MUSIC
Thru 2/28. Live at the Five Spot takes place on Fridays at the Contemporary Art Center from 5:30 to 7:30pm. Upcoming shows include: Dexter O’Neal & the Funk Yard (funk/r&b, 1/6), Hoosier Daddy (blues/rock/pop, 1/13), State of Mind (r&b/jazz, 1/27), The Brazilionaires (samba/pop, 2/3), Seven West (pop/rock, 2/17) and Mercy Blue (blues, 2/24). 

Thru 2/28. Rhythm Kitchen Music Café features live music on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 to 11pm.

1/6, 2/3. Jazz Night in the Broadway Lounge takes place at the Waterhouse at 8pm, with a pre-show dinner at 5:30pm. 

1/6. Old Salt Union will play with Nine String Collective at Kenny’s Westside Pub. 

1/7. Heartland Festival Orchestra presents New Year’s Greeting – Vienna to Broadway with Sarah Jane McMahon and John Cudia at Five Points Washington. 

1/7. Tarpley, Brown, Miller and Kelly will perform at Kenny’s Westside Pub. 

1/9 – 1/31. The Morton Civic Chorus will hold open rehearsals in January at the Peoria Fellowship Church.

1/13 – 1/14, 1/20, 2/10 – 2/11. The Howlin’ on Water dueling piano show performs at 8pm at the Waterhouse, with pre-show dinner buffet at 6:30pm.

1/13. The Dawn will perform with The Low Down at Kenny’s Westside Pub.

1/14. The Heritage Ensemble presents the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. choral celebration at 7:30pm in the ICC Performing Arts Center. 

1/16. Singer Patti LaBelle will be the featured speaker and guest performer at the 25th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at the Peoria Civic Center, with doors at 9:30am and post-luncheon concert at 12:30pm. 

1/19. Planes Mistaken for Stars will perform at the Rail II with special guests TBA.

1/20. El Toro, Lark’s Tongue, Denim Dragon and Mendoza will perform at Kenny’s Westside Pub. 

1/21. Boomstick will take the stage at Kenny’s Westside Pub.

2/25. The final round of the Peoria Symphony Young Artist Competition takes place at 1pm in the ICC Lecture-Recital Hall. 

2/26. Angela Brown will perform a program of spirituals, arias and art songs at 4pm at First United Methodist Church in Peoria. 

2/26. The Cynthia Atterbury Piano Duet Recital takes place at 4pm in the Chapel at Eureka College.
