This 14th biennial auction, an important fundraising event for the museum, takes place from 7 to 11 p.m., April 1. The Museum Masquerade event will be a fun, interactive, and delicious epicurean experience. The evening’s festivities will be emceed by WMBD 1470’s Greg Batton and will include four fast-paced live auctions throughout the evening. Silent auctions and art auctions will be ongoing, and the events will culminate with gourmet savory stations and musical entertainment by Preston Jackson and Friends, including Dave Parkinson and Judy Page Adkisson.

Local restaurants and caterers will compete in “One Sweet Night,” a judged dessert event, allowing their creativity and culinary talents to shine. Participants will submit one unique dessert that will be judged in the following categories: most creative, artistic presentation, best chocolate dessert, and people’s choice award. The caterers and restaurants also will provide bite-size dessert pieces for guests to sample. David Haase once again will lend his amazing talents with his signature decorating style, completely transforming the museum into an authentic Venetian Masquerade atmosphere.

The art auction will expand this year, featuring the most talented, eclectic young artists in the region. All mediums of art will be available at varying prices, including pottery, jewelry, paintings, and sculpture. All proceeds from the Museum Masquerade benefit Lakeview Museum’s programs and exhibitions.

The dress is casual, so leave the “black tie” at home and join Lakeview for this exciting event. “To have enough to share—to know the joy of giving, To thrill with all the Sweets of Life—is living!”
