Born and raised in Nuneaton, England, Andy King followed his father’s footsteps into a life of ministry. He spent time doing missionary work in Australia before coming to the United States to be a part of Dream Center Peoria. As a pastor who is firmly grounded in the community, King expends much effort fighting poverty in the heart of Peoria and gives families hope of a better future through the Dream Center’s many programs. When not working, King is likely to be found enjoying the company of his wife and children.

  1. What animal are you most like? The puma, because I’m always going fast.
  2. What social issue fires you up? Poverty, especially seeing kids living in poverty.
  3. If you could spend one hour doing absolutely anything, what would you do? I’d really like to spend the hour with my wife and kids, but I’d also really like to spend an hour back in England where I grew up—going to the local fish ‘n’ chips shop and a soccer game.
  4. At what time of day do you feel your best? When I first get into work in the mornings—I get the most done in those first few hours.
  5. What’s the best thing about being you? Being able to work with so many people in making an impact in Peoria through the Dream Center—to see them trying to change a community, to help a community.
  6. What are you most proud of? Of my kids and who they are, not what they do.
  7. What is your motto? Live life with no regrets.
  8. Who is the person who has had the greatest impact on your life? Three people: my dad, for who he is and bringing me up the way he did, showing me a side of church work that’s very positive; Ken Williamson, my mentor back in England. He is someone I’ve always looked up to; and my wife, for what she does with the kids and for always being by my side.
  9. What is your secret ambition? It’s not so much secret, but what I’m doing right now—it’s what I was born to do.
  10. Nobody in my office knows… How hard I strive to be a good husband and father. a&s
