Jennifer R. Jones is the associate athletic director for academics & student welfare at Bradley University. As the leading female administrator in Bradley Athletics, she assists in the overall administration and leadership of the department, evaluates student-athlete discipline procedures, and sits on the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Joint Committee, as well as multiple campus committees.

A mother of three herself, Jones plays the role another 200 times for all of the student-athletes under her guidance, helping them achieve their highest potential. She leads two major programs, Athletic Academic Assistance and Student-Athlete Affairs, and has implemented significant policy changes and improvements since arriving on campus, including the addition and oversight of two academic coordinators.

In addition to the many community service opportunities promoted at Bradley throughout the year, Jones helped implement several new initiatives in recent years, including the Student-Athlete Day program, in which local schoolchildren learn firsthand from student-athletes what it takes to be successful in school and in life, and the annual Etiquette Dinner, which teaches student-athletes important networking and behavioral skills.

Jones is currently Team Bradley co-captain for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, responsible for coordinating fundraising efforts, recruiting participants and garnering publicity. She is actively involved with St. Patrick School in Washington, serving on its Commission on Education since 2009. She also co-chaired the school’s Be the Match Bone Marrow Registry and American Red Cross Blood Drive, and helps organize Bradley’s annual Megan Fong Blood and Bone Marrow Drive to solicit blood donations and new bone marrow registrants. In addition, she has assisted with fundraising for CASA of Peoria County and participated in the MVC’s Just Read program and the Loaves and Fish program at First United Methodist Church.

Jones’ efforts have not gone unrecognized, as she is a past recipient of the Bradley Parent’s Association Award of Excellence and the Men’s Soccer Service Award. She has touched the lives of hundreds of student-athletes, coaches and their families throughout her career. iBi
