Michael Wolf is a licensed professional engineer and senior building commissioning manager in Farnsworth Group’s Facilities Science and Technology section, where he specializes in state-of-the-art, high performance facilities and is passionate about sustainability, green building design and energy efficiency. He reviews electrical designs, as well as mechanical, plumbing and life safety systems, and has been involved with all aspects of building commissioning, from submittal reviews and site visits to functional performance testing.

Having performed nearly every possible task associated with his profession, Wolf excels in his duties as an exacting technician and designer, a mentor to younger staff, and a champion for his various clients. He was the primary commissioning provider for the new Peoria Riverfront Museum and Caterpillar Visitors Center, both of which earned LEED Gold certification, and conducted design reviews and onsite commissioning tasks for the new Jump Trading Simulation & Education Center. He is especially passionate about his work for the Louisiana Recovery School District, where he is overseeing the design and construction of more than 25 schools in New Orleans.

Wolf recently participated in the Multicultural Leadership Program, an intense professional development curriculum that cultivates emerging leaders to strengthen their communities. From this experience, he was selected as a facilitator for the 2013-2014 MCLP class. He has also served as a guest speaker on sustainability at the University of Illinois and Illinois State University.

Among Wolf’s true passions is the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, for which he has been a Big Brother since 2010. An avid biker, he is a member of the Friends of the Constitution Trail in Bloomington-Normal. He has assisted with the Illinois Heart & Lung Foundation and is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers. By night, Wolf is an accomplished musician, with a degree in piano performance and weekend duties as the lead organist and pianist at his church. iBi
