Joshua D. Herman is a senior associate at Miller, Hall & Triggs, LLC, where he is responsible for client development, litigation and research, and serves as a trusted advisor to current clients.

His professional leadership is evident through his involvement in a wide range of activities. Herman serves as program chair on the executive committee of the Abraham Lincoln Inn of Court, supervising its professional development programs. He is an active member of the Peoria County Bar Association (PCBA), serving on its board of directors since 2010 and chairing its Young Lawyers Committee (YLC), for which he introduced several new initiatives. The recipient of the YLC’s 2011 Young Lawyer of the Year Award, he also helped found the PCBA’s Government and Public Interest Law Committee, to which he is a regular contributor. In addition, through his active work with the Illinois State Bar Association, Herman has reinforced ties between the organization and central Illinois attorneys.

Herman’s work ethic and dedication have contributed greatly to the Peoria region. He initiated a suit donation drive and resume and interview workshop to help the unemployed, and spearheaded efforts to donate the YLC’s annual entertainment and food budget to a legal aid program for the needy. He helped the Children’s Hospital of Illinois Pediatric Diabetes Resource Center present a seminar to help teachers and school staff learn how to educate students with diabetes, and has volunteered to take on numerous cases from Prairie State Legal Services pro bono, joining the organization’s Campaign Committee in 2013.

Herman has also served his country in the United States Army Reserves, including a deployment to Iraq from December 2003 to February 2005. From serving on the Peoria Ballet Academy’s board of directors to advising students as part of Bradley University’s Project Springboard competition to his lifelong involvement with the Boy Scouts of America, Herman has given back to the community in a variety of ways. iBi
