As a managing partner at pcm + design architects in East Peoria, Jim Hollenback oversees key projects for the office, in addition to tending to the firm’s business and financial management. He became a full partner after four years as a project architect, managing projects from conception and design implementation through construction. He recently oversaw a three-story, 72,000 square-foot addition to East Peoria Central Junior High School, a project that earned a Certificate of Merit at the Illinois Association of School Boards’ annual Exhibition of Educational Environments.

Active in organizations all over Greater Peoria, Hollenback spent more than a decade as a team coordinator and volunteer for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, serving as team captain for six years and as a member of the Chillicothe Relay for Life Planning Committee. He initiated and led the summer and fall men’s softball league at Northwoods Community Church from 2011 to 2015, and volunteered for the MS Carnivale event for five years.

For eight years, Hollenback served on the Board of Education for Illinois Valley Central Unit School District 321—including six years as president—in addition to serving on five different committees. Upon graduating from the Peoria Area Chamber Community Leadership School in 2011, he remained involved by serving on its Planning Committee, acting as its chair and helping to establish a second tier of the school in 2014. He currently serves on the Education and Workforce Development and Membership and Marketing committees for the Peoria Area Chamber, and is an active member of the Rotary Club of East Peoria.

Hollenback was honored with the Master School Board Member award in 2010, and five years later, he received a Leaders Change Peoria grant to start the “Peoria Lead Up Movement” to help others grow their leadership skills. When not working or volunteering, he enjoys exercising, reading and hobby farming. iBi
