Are you new to seed saving or gardening? Did you know you can “check out” seeds from the Chillicothe Public Library? The library launched the program in 2017, providing free, high-quality garden seeds to the community with the support of Seed Savers Exchange. It’s back this year—bigger and better, restocked and ready to grow!
Households may take up to five seed packets per week. A planting guide and seed-saving guidelines are provided—the library asks that participants grow and return at least one variety for seed to be shared next season. Beyond the seeds themselves, the library offers everything you need to get started, including books and other resources.
