For three years, Tiffany White has served as chief of staff for State Representative Mike Unes, who represents the 91st District in the Illinois House. In this role, she has provided service and assistance to a diverse range of constituents, mentored interns, and organized outreach events. Prior to her work for Rep. Unes, she was director of Pekin Main Street, where she established high standards of financial responsibility and a positive reputation for the not-for-profit organization. She re-established working groups of community members to contribute to its mission, particularly in the areas of economic restructuring for the downtown TIF district, and remains a member of its board of directors.

In addition, White served the public in a constituent casework and outreach role in the 18th Congressional District, organizing a range of outreach events, including the District Art Show, Youth Leadership Summit and community town halls.

With more than a decade of service to the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin, White currently chairs the Search and Call Committee, working to replace its long-time senior pastor upon his retirement. As chairperson of the Board for Worship and Spiritual Life, she secured grant funding for a new program to expand her church choir, and she facilitated a partnership for a children’s music program so it could continue to thrive and serve low-income families through scholarships. She also helped spearhead an initiative to showcase the church’s pipe organ to the community and celebrate its 25th anniversary.

A graduate of the R. David Tebben Leadership Academy through the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce, White has served as chairperson of the Community Relations Board for the Pekin Federal Correctional Institute, member of the City of Pekin Economic Development Advisory Board and board secretary for the Tazwood Center for Wellness. In addition, she was recently named to sit on the board of the Dirksen Congressional Center. iBi
