Held at Trinity Lutheran Church the first full week of June each year since 2003, the Peoria Bach Festival celebrates the music and life of the legendary composer Johann Sebastian Bach. This year’s festivities will feature eight concerts, among other events, including a free lunch and lecture by festival cofounder, Dr. John Jost, entitled “Bach and Handel: The Legacy of Two Musical Giants,” and an event for children, “Hey Kids! Meet Mr. Bach.”

An organ concert led by Caroline Robinson opens the festival on Friday, May 31st at Westminster Presbyterian Church as part of the Gretchen Iben Concert Series. Trinity Lutheran will host subsequent events celebrating Bach’s music and legacy at noon on Monday through Friday, June 3rd through 7th, and on the evenings of June 6th through 8th. The festival wraps up on Sunday, June 9th, with worship services featuring the Peoria Bach Festival Choir and Orchestra performing choruses from Samson and Cantatas 172 and 187.
