Community Impact

Mission
To facilitate free air transportation through volunteer pilots for financially distressed children and adults with medical and humanitarian needs far from home.

Vision
The shortest distance between home and hope.

LifeLine Pilots facilitates free private flights for passengers who need to travel for medical appointments and treatments using our network of volunteer pilots who donate their time, skills and aircraft to fly them. Additionally, we fly missions for humanitarian needs or flights of compassion.

Headquartered in Peoria, Illinois, we serve passengers living in the Midwest, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee and Wisconsin. We believe that everyone, regardless of location or income, should have equal access to healthcare. Since 1981, our volunteer pilots have flown more than 5.2 million nautical miles—that’s 8,900 missions—to medical appointments and procedures.

To qualify for a flight with LifeLine Pilots, a passenger must have a medical or humanitarian need distant from home; have a financial need for assistance; be able to fly in a non-pressurized aircraft; and be able to board the aircraft with minimal assistance and sit upright for the flight. There is no limit to the number of times a passenger can fly with us.

A real strength of LifeLine Pilots is our network of hundreds of volunteer pilots throughout mid-America. Passengers do not have to travel far to get to an airport for their flight and pilots do not have to travel far to pick up and deliver their passengers to their destination.

If a passenger needs to fly outside of our region, we work with similar volunteer pilot organizations in other regions of the United States. We work tirelessly to ensure that every person who contacts us receives every effort on our part to coordinate and fulfill their flight need.

A husband and wife who used our services said it best: “We have never met such compassionate, caring people willing to volunteer their time and money to help others. The world needs more caring people like all of you at LifeLine Pilots.”

How to Help
Use your skills and expertise to further our mission. Volunteers are needed to help with outreach in all communities in which we serve. To help more people, we must tell more people, and we need volunteers to help spread our mission. Volunteer pilots are always needed – if you hold a pilot’s license and would like to give back, contact us today.

To help financially distressed passengers receive the lifesaving medical care they need, please donate to LifeLine Pilots at lifelinepilots.org/donate.
