Community Impact

Mission
We create pathways out of poverty through Jesus with our neighbors in need.

Vision
We exist to see the kingdom of Jesus grow through human flourishing.

Since 1955, Peoria Rescue Ministries has offered rescue, relief, recovery and advocacy in the name of Christ. With programming and services that emphasize sustainable life transformation and the hope of the gospel, clients and residents are offered the opportunity for a new life and a fresh start.

Emergency Services
Men, women and children in need of emergency crisis care are welcome to come and receive warm meals, safe shelter, clean clothing and hot showers.

Next Step Program
Men staying at the Peoria Rescue Mission who are willing to commit to a four-month program have the opportunity to take the “next step” in acquiring a sustainable life of self-sufficiency. This program includes life skill classes, one-on-one meetings with a case manager, roundtable group discussions, financial responsibility lessons, and opportunities to serve and give to others.

Renewal Programs
For men and women dealing with issues related to addiction, abuse, homelessness, re-entry from prison or challenging life choices, our long-term renewal programs offer the opportunity to heal and develop a positive life change. With one-on-one counseling and case management, the programs emphasize sustainable life transformation skills, including moving toward permanent housing, living wage jobs, healthy living, and vibrant connections with the local church and communities of faith.

Pregnancy & Parenting Services
The Empower Life Center empowers women and men to thrive in their pregnancy and parenting decisions. Free services provided include pregnancy testing, STI testing, parenting classes and sonography for pregnancy verification.

Biblical Counseling
The Barnabas Center serves the community as a Biblical counseling center committed to providing assistance to individuals, couples and families who are mentally, emotionally or spiritually discouraged.

Work Enterprises
Peoria Rescue Ministries operates a thrift store serving the 61605 zip code. Clothing, housewares and furniture are available for purchase, and donations are gratefully accepted. Recycled wood mulch is available for purchase from the Victory Acres location. You can help support the men in our long-term renewal program by purchasing your wood mulch from Victory Acres.
